Anonymous

This shoot is the best one I've done over all the shoots I've had. Location of this shoot is not going to be disclosed (because I can muahaha). But I'm sure some of you already know where this is so this isn't really a secret hideout anymore (dammit).

Damien and Trisha met up at my house at 12.30pm and we walked to the location. We had the anonymous mask as our prop for the day.

Okay so I've done some reading on how to improve my photo capturing skills (just a few pages lol) and I managed to remember what I read. At first I didn't really get good shots, but then I did some different setting. I switched to manual mode and set my own ISO, aperture and shutter speed and I got my ideal effect. I was pretty happy. It felt like eureka.

Here are my best shots:

And then Trisha changed into a dress and put on the hat I bought (which is super, super cute). Later, it started to rain, and we had to leave. On our way leaving, we saw a snake. I saw it first and I was like "oh my God A SNAKE. RUN" Trisha said, "NO DON'T RUN IT MIGHT CHASE US." *runs anyway*

And then we went to a parking lot because it was very dark, I used my built-in flash. The built-in flash won't result a good shot because of the direct lighting, so I covered the flash a little bit and this shot came out:

So bootiful.

Professionals might think these shots still need more work and effort, but as they say, "satisfy yourself first, then others". I'm very happy with the results, the best ones among all my others. I hope to improve my skills more.

Thank you for reading.

Powder Photography

On the 8th of March 2014, Trisha and I had a powder photography shoot. We wanted to do something else but something went wrong so we went with this one.

At 11pm, my mom fetched us to the MCM market first to get the corn starch and some coloured powder. We wanted to get the Holi powder but no one seems to sell it and we didn't have time to do it ourselves. Then my mom dropped us at PappaRich and we walked to the photoshoot location. We did the shoot under this bridge somewhere near PappaRich.

It was harder to walk to the bridge than I thought, because to walk to the bridge, there's this huge land. We tried walking over the land but our feet sort of sunk into the grass (which explains the caution sign board). But we found a way to get there by walking on this tiny pathway by the side. While walking on the pathway, you can see how deep the ground was and it was rather high. I'm afraid of heights so basically I was whining all the way while Trisha was so chill.

We reached under the bridge and we set to work. We mixed the corn starch with the coloured powder we bought in a small tub Trisha brought. Trisha asked me to mix it with my hand. After mixing the powder, my hand turned green, and the powder was light orange. I kind of freaked out. Then Trisha told me it turns green when it touches water (my hand was probably sweating). The colour turned out very light because we had very little coloured powder and a lot of corn starch, but we worked with it anyway. After that we used up all the coloured powder and had to go with plain white corn starch.

My attempt at taking the photos was to make the powder look still while Trisha throws it in the air, but because I'm not an experienced person, the powder seemed blur. I tried adjusting the shutter speed and after a while I managed to get some good shots. I did some editing and here are some of my best shots:

If only there's someone to throw the powder for us to add more effect to it but sadly there were only two of us. Damien couldn't make it :/

We're definitely going for a second attempt. I found more colour choices in this shop in Puchong. The next time I hope we'll have Damien with us to join the fun :)

Thank you for reading.
